Our story

It all began on a hot summer afternoon, Jake mid-sale on a front porch, when his phone started buzzing again.Believe it or not, AnswerPilot started on a front doorstep.

While working door-to-door sales for a local pest control company, Jake realized just how much time he was wasting on phone calls from customers he’d already sold.

He spent hours every week answering questions, rescheduling appointments, updating payments, and chasing leads — all because customers couldn’t reach the main office fast enough.

Every minute spent handling those repetitive calls meant less time selling, building relationships, or simply enjoying his off-hours.

That frustration sparked an idea: what if there was an AI built specifically for pest control that could handle these conversations automatically?

After the summer, Jake dove headfirst into the world of conversational AI and, within a few months, built the first working prototype of an AI phone assistant designed just for pest control businesses.

Knowing he needed a strong technical partner, Jake began searching across UNC Charlotte for someone who shared his drive to build real-world solutions.

That’s when he met Harsh Bhadania, a computer science and AI student with the technical expertise to bring the vision to life.

The two hit the ground running, combining Jake’s industry and sales insight with Harsh’s engineering skill to create an AI that could answer and resolve every call on its own.

Today, AnswerPilot’s mission is simple: help pest control companies grow by improving their customer experience and reducing administrative burden.
